You can include a hyperlink on a topic or within the topic notes that you can click to jump to a specific topic in this map or in a different map.
Select a topic in Map View or Outline View, or, within the topic notes, select some text or an image.
Click the Links toolbar button on the Home or Insert tab, or choose Insert > Hyperlink.
Tip: Click the Task Panes toolbar button, click the Inspector tab, and then click the Hyperlink and Attachments tab. If a hyperlink already exists for the selection it will show here. To create a hyperlink or modify the link shown, click Manage.
Choose Topic in the Link To pop-up menu.
If the topic you want to link to is in a different map, choose In Another Map, click Choose and choose the map.
Select the topic you want to link to from the list of topics.
Select "Store as absolute hyperlink" if you want to include the full pathname in the link. Otherwise the link is stored as relative to the map.
You can assign a title to a link in the Link Title box. When you point to the link, the link title is displayed along with the topic text.
Tip:You can add multiple links to a topic. A topic with multiple links displays this icon: .
You can hide or show all hyperlink icons on the map by choosing View > Show & Hide.
Drag the topic that you want to link to over the topic where you want to insert the link.
When the menu button appears, release the mouse button, and choose Insert Link.
To insert links between the two topics, choose Reciprocal Link.
Select the target topic (the topic that the link will jump to). This can be a topic in the current map or in another map.
Press Command-C to copy the topic's destination.
Control-click the topic where you want to add the hyperlink.
Choose Paste Link.
Control-click the topic's hyperlink icon, or Control-click the linked text or image in the notes.
Choose Modify Llink.
Tip:Click the Task Panes toolbar button, click the Inspector tab, and then click the Hyperlink and Attachments tab. If a hyperlink already exists for the selection it will show here. To create a hyperlink or modify the link shown, click Manage.
Make changes to the hyperlink in the dialog or click the Remove Hyperlink button.
Important: If you move or send the map, you must also move or send the maps containing the linked topics to avoid breaking the map's hyperlinks.
